Get to know David Douglas

David Douglas is a retired pastor who has found great joy in serving alongside the team at Parkway. After pastoring for more than 45 years in churches across Kentucky, David now helps out at Parkway as one of the church Elders and occasionally steps in to preach. He and his wife, Carletta, also serve together as Prayer Coordinators for the Kentucky Church of God—a role that reflects their lifelong passion for prayer and ministry. Over the years, David has also been involved in various state boards and committees, offering his experience to support the broader church.

A graduate of Corbin High School, David went on to earn degrees from Eastern Kentucky University, the University of Kentucky, and The Theological Seminary. Alongside his ministry work, he spent several years teaching at Sue Bennett College, Somerset Community College, and EKU. David has always had a heart for teaching and mentorship, whether in the classroom, behind the pulpit, or over a cup of coffee.

These days, David enjoys a slower pace of life, but he’s never far from a good conversation or a meaningful moment of prayer. He’s passionate about encouraging others in their walk with Christ and remains deeply committed to the church. Whether he’s serving on a Sunday morning or just chatting in the lobby, David’s warmth, wisdom, and love for people are always evident.
