“Ministries” isn’t just part of our name, by God’s Grace, it’s truly who we are. We are an active family of believers with a mission to love and serve the world around us. With so many different outreach ministries at Parkway, there’s likely at least one that you’ll feel God leading you to. Some of our outreach opportunities may be a type you have heard of before, some may be entirely new to you, but all of it is ministry that anyone can be a part of. Often people have the concept that ministry involves preaching or teaching, but the ways we can minister the Love of God to the world around us is endless. Most of the outreach from Parkway is simply meeting people where they’re at in life and serving them in their need.
Serving our communities with “no-strings attached” acts of Kindness is really at the heart of Parkway. For example, it’s very common for us to host a free car wash, which generally draws quite a long line of cars to wash. We serve people waiting in their car refreshments, then wash their vehicle and even spot dry it, and let them know that Jesus loves them. We also love to host free cookouts and block parties at housing projects where kids and families can have a fun day together—it’s just a no strings-attached way to bring a bright spot to a child’s life and build new relationships. Another one of our favorites is to serve our community at city sponsored events such as serving free hot cocoa at local Christmas parades, or leading children’s games at summer events at the park. You’ll find Parkway at many public events, just serving and letting people know they are appreciated and loved. You may be amazed how it touches people’s lives and creates opportunities to share our faith.
We also seek ways to meet people individually who may feel forgotten, need a helping hand, or just need a word of encouragement. Laundromat ministry may sound odd but it’s a great way to show someone kindness—just loading coins in washers and dryers and letting folks know Jesus loves them. The list is endless… building handicap ramps for the disabled, preparing flower beds for the elderly ladies at a nearby nursing home, taking sandwiches to the homeless, sending care packages to military, hosting a first responder appreciation day, or just setting up a free snow cone booth at the park on a hot summer day. These things may not sound like ministry to some, but we feel meeting people where they are at in life is the first step in taking the church outside the building.

KAVAH
Kavah was created through personal testimony and with a vision to facilitate unconditional love for often forgotten populations. The word Kavah in Hebrew translates as, “waiting, expecting, or having hope”. We seek to emulate the hope we have in Jesus. After all, he left the 99 to find the 1.
Kavah has been active in the recovery community since 2013, donating through Parkway Ministries and former clients to men and women who are suffering with addiction, homelessness, and displacement.
We serve across Kentucky providing hygiene items, Christmas presents, and Easter Baskets to the families affected by addiction. We also work with other facilities to help ensure that clients have a resource to bridge the gap after treatment or recovery housing.

Nursing Home
God has blessed us to have close relationships with multiple nursing homes in the Corbin area and our planners are filled with all sorts of wonderful events you can be a part of. We’ve found that many nursing home residents have family members that visit them often, but we’ve also recognized there are many who have no one. Our mission is to bring as much brightness and love into their lives as we possibly can. We host at least one Sunday worship service and one game night at a different local nursing home every month, but it doesn’t stop there. We take residents on fishing trips, help to host Independence Day firework celebrations, provide birdhouse building and other craft events, and even hallway parades. We’ve added taking a local field trip to Cumberland Falls and a picnic at a local park to our list of events this year!
But we don’t forget those who are unable to leave their beds. In fact, making bedside visits is where this ministry began. We love going from room to room, delivering flowers, giving small gifts, or a craft they can enjoy while sitting in bed. We’ve found that there are many who are unable to leave their bed and are longing for someone to visit them. A few minutes of prayer, reading a short passage of scripture, or just reminiscing about an old and good memory does more good than most of us can imagine. There are some things in life you just don't want to miss and this is certainly one of them! We welcome you to join us!

Jail Ministry
On January 1st, 2017 the Parkway Jail/Prison Ministry began ministering to men in one local county detention center. From the beginning the vision has been to reach people with the Good News of Jesus Christ and help create real life change so that their experience with Jesus continues outside of their initial commitment.
With God’s favor Parkway now has the opportunity to reach multiple facilities with teams of volunteers of men and women who have a heart for those who are hurting, those who feel forgotten. We minister weekly to men and women, teaching and preaching salvation through faith in Jesus Christ and while we do that we teach people how to apply the Gospel to their life in practical ways.
With God’s favor Parkway now has the opportunity to reach multiple facilities with teams of volunteers of men and women who have a heart for those who are hurting, those who feel forgotten. Our mission is to share the message of Jesus Christ by providing compassionate and effective disaster response and recovery services to communities in need. We take "Love Thy Neighbor" seriously. We are dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by natural disasters through immediate relief efforts and long-term recovery programs. Our goal is to empower survivors, rebuild communities, and foster resilience in the face of adversity. Together, we strive to make a meaningful impact during times of crisis and create a brighter future for all those affected by disaster.

Recovery Ministry
Our church's extensive recovery community offers unwavering support to individuals battling addiction and seeking a transformative path. We actively engage in one-on-one mentorship, fostering personal connections and providing personal guidance. Additionally, we extend our outreach by visiting local recovery homes, offering encouragement and fellowship to those residing there. During the Christmas and Easter seasons, we demonstrate our care by distributing thoughtfully curated care packages to individuals in residential treatment facilities who may lack the resources to provide for themselves adequately. It has grown into a large and extensive ministry over the years.
At Parkway, we embrace a culture of profound respect and empathy. We greet each other with the same heartfelt recognition and compassion typically reserved for survivors of a near-fatal catastrophe. This shared understanding of the challenges and triumphs of recovery creates an environment where unconditional love flourishes within our church family.
