Get to know James Smith
Hello, my name is James. I have been blessed to be married to my wife Jeanette for over 29 years. We have 2 wonderful sons, Zach and Evan. You will usually see my youngest son Evan up front on Sunday mornings with the Banner Ministry. I love to spend time with my family, and I like to hunt, fish, and tinker on cars in the garage at the house.
I am a part of the MACH1 Men’s Ministry and the Parkway Jail/Prison Ministry team. I am an Ordained Minister through the Church Of God and I sit on the Pastor’s council of Elders at Parkway. I have also been involved in men’s Recovery Ministry for a number of years. My heart's desire is to see people experience real “life change”.
When I’m not at Parkway, at an outreach event, or spending time with my family you will find me in jail, literally. I am the full-time Chaplain of the Laurel County Correctional Facility, and I help coordinate all the religious volunteers that come into the facility as well as looking after the spiritual needs of the men and women inside the detention center, employee and inmate alike
