Get to know James Smith

Hello, my name is James.  I am a husband and father of 2 boys.  You will usually see my youngest son Evan up front on Sunday mornings with the Banner Ministry.  I love to spend time with my family, and I like to hunt, fish, and tinker on cars in the garage at the house.

I am a part of the MACH1 Men’s Ministry team and the Parkway Jail/Prison Ministry.  I have also been blessed to be on Pastor’s council of Elders and to be involved in men’s Recovery Ministry for a number of years.  My hearts desire is to see people experience real “life change”.

When I’m not at Parkway, at an outreach event, or spending time with my family you will find me in jail, literally.  I am the full-time Chaplain of the Laurel County Correctional Facility and I help coordinate all the religious volunteers that come into the facility as well as looking after the spiritual needs of the men and women inside the detention center, employee and inmate alike.
