Jay was raised around strong pentacostal preachers, but struggled to find his own identity in Christ for many years.  As a younger man, Jay's family moved around a bit and through a series of unfortunate events, found themselves without a home and heading to live with relatives in Kentucky.  This latest turn of events sent him down a rought path, eventually landing in the U.S. Marines.  

After leaving the Marines, Jay, being a jack of all trades, but master of none, stumbled into a technology career over 30 years ago and has been riding that wave ever since.

Jay's love of God was sparked anew after a life changing encounter with Christ.  He was subsequently guided to Parkway Ministries and found a home there with his beautiful wife, Kim, from the moment they walked through the door.

With what few hours he has left in the day, Jay is either working on music as the lead guitarist for Parkway Worship, working on the farm or lounging with Kim.

Oh, yeah, he has the most amazing granddaughter, Emryn Brooke.
A chip off the ole' block, that one.  Just ask him!
