Get to know Mary Taylor

Hello, my name is Mary Taylor.  I grew up in Williamsburg, Kentucky, where I still reside.  Larry and I were married in 1976 and we have three wonderful sons and six amazing grandchildren that are the light of my  life.

I graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1976. I have a bachelors degree from Union College in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Cumberlands.  I retired in 2015, after 29-1/2 years as Benefits Administrator for TECO Coal.  However, my greatest accomplishment in life is my family!

My dad was a Church of God minister so I have literally been in the Church of God my whole life.  My dad taught me to always trust God and to put Him first.  He taught me to pray, have faith and that you can’t out give God.  I surrendered my life to Christ at the age of 13 and began my life-long journey with  Jesus.  There have been many hills and valleys, but God has been faithful through it all.  One of my favorite Bible verses is Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”

Larry and I began attending Parkway Ministries in 2018.  From our first Sunday morning service we knew Parkway was where God wanted us.  In 2019, Larry and I were asked if we would consider leading OASIS (Older sAints Still In Service).  At our first meeting we had 5 in attendance.  We have seen God bless OASIS with growth and we now have between 25-40.  Larry and I believe that our older adults have so much to offer in ministry.  In serving God there is no age limit.  We all have a testimony and something we can do.  We love our Oasis group and feel blessed and honored to be their leaders.
