Taking Personal Responsibility

Mar 8, 2026    Pastor Mark Hisle

When God asked Cain, “Where is your brother?” the response was a deflection that still echoes today: “Am I my brother’s keeper?” In this message, we unpack what it really means to take personal responsibility, not just for our own lives but for the people God has placed around us. Scripture reminds us that we are called to love our brothers and sisters, restore those who fall with gentleness, and sound the alarm when danger is near. The Church was never meant to be a country club. We are watchmen, called to care, to speak up, and to help rescue others from destruction. While Cain avoided responsibility, Jesus became the ultimate example of a true brother’s keeper, laying down His life so we could be found, restored, and saved. This message challenges us to move beyond excuses and embrace our God-given responsibility to reach our community and care for one another.
